Recursos geográficos y digitales del IGN
del Camino de Santiago
The National Geographic Institute (IGN) makes services and products available to users through its website (www.ign.es), which allows travellers to organise their routes, providing digital resources of ancient, topographic, tourist and thematic maps related to the Way of St. James. It also offers the consultation of geographical gazetteers, which contain the official georeferenced names included in the National Topographic Map. It also offers mobile and web applications of the Camino de Santiago, easy to use with the main routes of the Camino de Santiago, including information on the stages, points of interest, services or associated hostels. The use of the aforementioned digital geographic data products is free of charge.

Secretary of the Specialised Commission on Geographical Names (CENG) of the Higher Geographical Council (CSG), Spanish representative on the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN) and head of the toponymy department of the National Geographical Institute (IGN). He develops, among others, works related to geographical gazetteers and toponymy databases.
